First Steps Theology
Theology, by definition, is the study of God. However, many approach theology by studying opinions and debates about scripture, without ever actually engaging with the passages in the Bible that directly reveal God’s nature. First Steps Theology corrects that approach by focusing on what the scriptures explicitly say about God Himself - what makes Him infinite, what sets Him apart from anyone or anything else, and how we can begin to comprehend the extent of His capabilities. Theology is not a chronological Bible study. It is a God study throughout the Bible.
If you don’t first exhaust the scriptures that deal with God directly, you can’t technically call it theology. Many people have a lot of Bible knowledge - but not a lot of God knowledge, let alone what Habakkuk 2:14 calls the knowledge of the glory.
First Steps Theology is a remedy for that gap and serves as a companion curriculum to Gloryology.
